Job Description

The Study Abroad Councillor is responsible for providing guidance and support to students seeking to study abroad. The job involves providing advice on the application process, assisting with visa and immigration procedures, and recommending suitable universities and courses.

Responsibilities
  • Meet with students to understand their interests, academic background, and career goals
  • Provide information and guidance on studying abroad, including available programs, universities, admission requirements, and funding options
  • Assist students with the application process, including filling out forms, writing essays, and preparing for interviews
  • Help students navigate visa and immigration requirements, and provide information on travel arrangements and accommodation
  • Conduct research on universities and programs, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of admission procedures and requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with universities and educational institutions abroad
  • Organize and participate in education fairs, seminars, and other events to promote overseas education opportunities
  • Collaborate with other team members, such as academic advisors and career counselors, to provide a holistic support system for students
Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in education, international relations, or a related field
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in student advising or education counseling, preferably with a focus on overseas education
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of higher education systems and admission procedures in countries such as the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand
  • Familiarity with visa and immigration procedures for international students
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Fluency in English, with proficiency in additional languages being an advantage
Skill & Experience

Working Conditions

The Overseas Education Expert will work in an office setting and will need to be available to meet with students outside of normal business hours. The job may require travel to attend education fairs or to visit universities abroad. The job may also involve occasional evening or weekend work.
